Spring is here and it’s flourishing as well the desire to move outdoors, but what are now the most glamorous trends for open-air gardens and spaces?
To re-create small spaces within outdoor scenarios the gazebo is really trendy. Depending on its style, it can range from a modern context with linear structures to an aristocratic style with plush cushions and baroque armchairs. Alternatively you can enjoy an exotic place and atmosphere with colorful curtains, lying on soft puff pillows. The marquees or the areas derived from the geometries benches or the couches positioned sought botanical corners are great, too. Always popular are the pergolas, embellished with climbing plants such as wisteria, roses or bougainvillea and with lounge chairs or armchairs.
The objects plays a decisive role in a trendy garden and luckily the variety is endless. Just a tip, regarding the chairs, a low garden armchair is perfect, possibly rounded and in perforated metal and colored or in simple wicker. The tables cannot be missing, possibly with rectangular or oval clean lines, flanked by lanterns, bird houses, fountains and even bike racks. Originality is the key word: highly sought dual umbrellas for extra large gardens, big vases as decoration or large garden canopies for those who want the comfort and intimacy. I really like the leafy sunbeds with wicker or suspended mini pagodas with their Oriental touch.
Regarding the lighting, the most trendy LED solutions are becoming really important in green architecture. An innovative idea is to set lighting schemes with softer shades taking up the color of a flower or a plant. The light helps recreating the atmosphere and often pushes the imagination to take us to different places according to the different color solutions that can be created.
Last, but not least, is our undisputed protagonist: the vegetation. It is important to prefer local plants, that can adapt as much as possible to the climate of the area, with a spontaneous flora, simple, but never neglected. The latest trends are the vegetable gardens that combine the aesthetic and the practical senses, creating small parks and small gardens at the same time using the effects of vegetables’ colors such as tomatoes, pumpkins and zucchini. Always remember that to be glamorous you have to dare, but not too much, pay attention to details and always keep in mind that garden is the business card of a house.
