Winter gardens are beautiful facilities that allow to create a garden protected from the cold during winter season. In recent years the interest in these types of solutions has increased, winter gardens are complicated to be manufactured because of their important aesthetical impact on the external environment of the house.
A garden – to survive in winter – needs a lot of care, and by the way, not all the different plants are suitable for low temperatures. Moreover during winter, people can’t fully enjoy their own green space which is often forgotten and uncared. For these and many other reasons these structures with glass walls and roof are very useful, beautiful and suitable for outdoor spaces.
Thanks to these glass greenhouses it becomes possible to transform a part of the garden avoiding to excessively alter the visual impact, while ensuring excellent integration between the interior and the exterior environment. This allows the survival of many plants and adds a variety of aesthetic and functional advantages too, including for example the increase of the floor area. The structures could be indeed large and habitable to make the environment more pleasant and to allow the plant to grow in the best way.
There is the possibility to close the covers with vertical glass closures (sliding, packaging or all glass): ideal for creating indoor environments with varying degrees of thermal capacity which perform as a thermal pad for the house, a heat exchanger which transfers or retains heat according to the outside temperature. When the project of the winter garden is completed, it would be a right choice to install an internal source of heat, for example a pellet stove.
The winter garden can be a wonderful place of “connection” between the house and the garden, bringing the interior of the house in the garden and vice versa. As I wrote the design of these places must also be aesthetically careful to reflect the house and garden style: that’s why it is essential to study all the details. Nowadays there is a wide range of solutions, from the romantic conservatory, or English countryside style to the most modern facilities, and minimal essential for houses and gardens characterized by a contemporary mood. Everybody could find his and own style of winter garden!
