Apparent Arab-inspired randomness

Colors and decorations, characteristic of the Arab world, are reflected in this green wall design, conceived to give vitality and splendor to the control room of one of the oil extraction facilities in Abu Dhabi. A wide variety of plants, including four different species of Ferns, two varieties of Aglaonema and three drooping ones, was used to create ‘natural-looking and seemingly random design. This randomness is, in fact, only a beautiful illusion as each botanical essence was selected and placed according its characteristics, in relation to neighboring plants and its position in the wall to achieve an interesting, vital, yet balanced design.
