Residential greenery under the walls Bergamo
Bergamo’s historical soul and its propensity for the future meet in a grand architecture offering lofts, apartments and offices within walking distance of the city center. Between 2013 and 2016, in collaboration with big names in Italian architecture, Sandrini created a system of residential green areas for exclusive complex.
This area is a great example of brownfield redevelopment transformed by the famous Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel and Partners firm into a complex of residential buildings. The issue of urban regeneration is a particularly relevant topic in the world modern architecture, called more and more toward the challenge of reducing land consumption and redeveloping urban areas with buildings often characterized by poor architectural and construction quality.
The park, designed by studio AG&P, dialogues perfectly with this desire and is presented as a set of elements strongly interconnected with each other and with the buildings themselves. Conceived as a refined extension of the vegetal fabric of the surrounding urban, the greenery consists of mixed hedges, tree elements and patches of plant essences that bloom at different times of the year.
