Historical garden in San Remo

Return to the past with a grand green restoration

On one of the most prestigious residential streets in the upper part of San Remo, in the early twentieth century some wealthy English families built sumptuous mansions with breathtaking parks. And it is precisely on this street that is located the wonderful garden that Sandrini Green Architecture has restored to its former glory. The eclectic style of the villa, the breathtaking view of the sea and the terraced park were the starting point for Sandrini’s “green restoration.”

The exotic flavor, so much in vogue at the time of the mansion’s construction, has been recreated through a truly meticulous and sophisticated botanical selection. At the foot of the existing monumental Washintonias and Phoenixes, which have been recovered with great care, plant form games have been created consisting of Agapanthus, Bergenias, large leaves of Alocasias and specimens of Gardenias.

Large patches of “succulent” plants such as Aloes, Opunthias, and monumental American Agave trees then serve as a backdrop to the magical balustraded “belvederes.” Huge refinement also for ancient vases and stone objects that Sandrini, in tune with the taste of the client, selected and placed in the garden. All this has made it possible for anyone who enters this beautiful park to return to the authentic atmosphere of the early twentieth century.
