In one of the most beautiful and exclusive settings on the French Riviera, Sandrini was responsible for the landscaping of an important historic residence that belonged to King Leopold II of Belgium. The park has an area of 7000 square meters with valuable plant specimens and classical architectural elements characteristic of late 19th century gardens.
The driveway echoes the motifs and materials of traditional gravel driveways and is embellished with niches and large terracotta vases with topiary Boxwood. In front of main entrance to the villa, the paving decoration is embellished: the nymphaeum and green arches with statues of the four seasons complete the space, creating a unique setting.
The green arches placed by Sandrini repurpose the historic green architecture Italian topiary art and have the dual function of scenic and enclosure, protecting the view of the most private part of the garden. Similarly on the terrace on the second floor, the white lacquered treillage, in addition to ensuring the privacy of the owners, constitutes a highly decorative aesthetic element.
Within the park, the existing specimens of Pinus pinea follow a harmonious and natural pattern under which Sandrini has recreated large, sinuously shaped borders with specimens of Dicksonia antarctica, Phoenix canariensis, Strelitzie, Muses and Camellias that follow one another in a continuous and lush green setting in which white blooms and decorative elements emerge, giving the garden a romantic flavor.
