I talked already about hanging gardens or Roof Gardens, a topic I like to go back on because it improves the city landscape and the spaces we inhabit.
By the way, although apparently they seem a recent innovation, they have a very ancient origin, from the Babylonians with their mythical antiquity gardens, going to Scandinavian and Icelandic green roofs.
From a historical tradition our urban green areas have been shrinking in size and have been neglected. Fortunately now there are green roofs that have fortunately become an architectural trend, both in new buildings or renovations. In India and Japan, in Chicago, Singapore, London, Paris and New York more and more are the construction projects facing architecture and nature.
Green roofing that is not only aesthetic beauty or a cool place to find an atmosphere of freedom… it is much more.
First of all green roofs are areas that offer functional benefits: restricting noise and electrosmog (from magnetic pollution), as well as thermic insulation of the roof. Not to mention the benefits of establishing a habitat for animal species, such as migratory birds, and plants.
The Roof Gardens are the gardens to be included in the urban projects of the near future, they should become a key part of the city for the joy of our eyes and our health.
It is amazing how the story reminds us that cyclically the teachings of the past must never be forgotten. From this ancient tradition arise in fact the cities of our future.
Can you imagine a green city to watch a heads up ?!
And a city to admire from a roof garden ?!
I do and I really like …
