Arab tradition meets Italian design
The project developed by Sandrini consists of designing the outdoor areas of a new, futuristic “Tent Majliss”-a building that in Arab tradition represents meeting place for political assemblies or convivial gatherings-accompanied by two private suites in a completely desert area in Swheian, UAE.
The ambition of the project is the harmonious fusion of traditional elements of Arab culture with an extremely modern and futuristic building.
The vast area on which the work is being carried out and the specific request to endow the park with numerous symbolic elements typical of Arab culture are realized in the subdivision of the project into distinct zones: a triumphal entrance with a long and prestigious promenade as a prelude to the importance of the building and exclusivity of its frequent visitors, the preservation and enhancement of a historic palm grove, a modern and luxurious fountain, all surrounded by the recreated and artificially stabilized sand dunes.
Considerable emphasis is placed on the use of materials: modern floors but with clear stylistic references to traditional Arab designs, life-size bronze statues, and a dramatic lighting system that can further enhance the new landscape.
A fascinating combination of Arab tradition and Italian design.
