Classic garden
Classic garden in Saint-Jean-Cap Ferrat (France). The project involves a mansion, built in the early 1800s for King Leopold 2nd of Belgium, situated in one of the most beautiful and exclusive resorts of the French Riviera.
It´s a 7000 sqm park with valuable plant specimens, classic architectural elements like the bower facing an enchanting natural vista and the terracings, traditionally employed for growing citruses.
Our intervention was meant to recover and bring out the existing historical elements, framing them with an armonic and natural green design, thus recreating the typical French Riviera Mediterranean garden ambience (Ephrussi de Rothschild Villa).
The drive, marked and enriched by "aux amours" vases with topiarian box, leads to the villa's main entrance where the floor decoration, the nymphaeum and the green arches with statues depicting the four season create a unique scenography.
In the living area, the charming view on the seaside is framed by the classic bower and enriched with Mediterranean plants, statues and historical vases.
From the swimming pool you can enjoy a superb vista on the terracing with the symmetric pattern made by Bolgheri Cypresses, topiarian boxes and exemplary orange trees.
On the 2nd floor terrace, the white lacquered treillage not only gives the owner their privacy, but also makes for a strongly decorative aesthetical element.
